One of my standard tasks as a specialist lawyer in family law is to represent you in divorce proceedings. I will file the divorce petition for you at the competent district court (family court) and take over the complete conduct of the proceedings, including the review of the information provided by the pension providers in the pension splitting proceedings. I will be at your side in the courtroom at the divorce hearing.
If an out-of-court settlement regarding certain consequences of separation and divorce, such as spousal support or equalisation of gains, could not be reached beforehand, I will assert your claims in court or defend you against the respective claims of your spouse, either in ancillary proceedings to the divorce proceeding or as separate matters.
I will also represent you in court outside of divorce proceedings, for example in matters of access and custody, in non-marital maintenance matters (child support, educational support, child care or parental maintenance), in pension splitting matters (e.g. after the death of an already divorced ex-spouse) or in cases of domestic violence.
Remuneration for legal representation
For legal representation in court, you will incur attorney’s fees in accordance with the German Attorneys’ Fees Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz, RVG). These fees are based on the value of the matter (amount in dispute). Further details may be specified in a mandate and fee agreement. In the event of court proceedings, I will always provide you with comprehensive advice on the risks of the proceedings and the costs.
